Friends Feeding Friends

Friends Feeding Friends is a program designed to decrease food insecurity and increase food access to all residents of the Mascoma Valley Regional School District. The program launched in February 2016 and has grown exponentially over the past few years.

We partner with many local organizations to bring more nutritional opportunities into the district including the New Hampshire Food Bank, Willing Hands, Tri-County CAP, Mascoma Valley Ecumenical Council, the Mascoma Valley first responders, Price Chopper, Shaw’s, and more.

Our program operates two food pantries, one in Canaan and one in Enfield, plus is the primary source of food and personal hygiene items for the pantry located inside Mascoma Valley Regional High School.

In 2018 we had 1934 household visits to our food pantries and distributed 138,632 lbs of food within our school district. From 2016 to date, we have supplied over 300,000 lbs of food to district residents.

Between this program and our other programs, we enjoyed over 4,300 volunteer hours in 2018!
