Instrument Repair Fund for Instrument Bank at CES and EVS

Instrument Repair Fund

At the end of 2015, Friends of Mascoma Foundation launched a campaign called Mascoma Music Matters to help start an instrument bank for CES and EVS. The intent of the instrument bank is to provide an opportunity to students to learn an instrument even if they cannot afford to rent or purchase one. As a result of the campaign eleven instruments were donated to the school district.

These instruments, along with others, sometimes need repairs. As a result of this mini-grant submission the Music Department received $200.00 to help defray the cost of repairs in the elementary schools for those who cannot afford to fix the instrument or need a small accessory to play the instrument. To date, the Music Department has spent $76.00 of the $200.00 so far and is waiting until the end of the year to pay off other instrument fixes.

Pictured above are photos from the concert at CES where the instruments were presented. Andrew Cushing and Holly West from Friends of Mascoma attended the concert to present the instruments to Megan Prince.
