Friends of Mascoma Foundation (FOM) was formed by a group of community advocates committed to supporting the needs of the Mascoma Valley Regional School District. FOM provides support on initiatives that foster educational development and nutritional well-being for our students.
Core areas that FOM focuses on are:
Supporting students by funding supplemental educational opportunities and scholarships.
Providing teachers with "mini grants" enabling them to offer additional educational programs to their students.
Enhancing and improving the reputation of the district by helping highlight our communities’ commitment to education.
Supporting successful existing programs to include more students or enable more financial support to expand.
Supporting our Friends Feeding Friends food pantries.
During NH Gives this year we will primarily raise money for our scholarship program. We are a growing organization. If we hit our goal, we keep on raising money to support our general operations!
As of June 2023 we have awarded $137,000 in scholarships! The challenges presented by Covid-19 continued to pose difficultly for people due, resulting in financial impacts to families in our district. Scholarships remain important this year and next so students can pursue educational opportunities following graduation.
If we meet our scholarship goal this year any other funds raised will be used in support of our general operations. We pride ourselves on being nimble and responding to the evolving needs of the community. We are grateful for all the members of the Mascoma community, both near and far, who have supported us during these unusual times. Thank you for your loyal support! We hope we can count on you again for NH Gives!

FOM is registered with the State of NH and is a recognized 501(c)(3) organization with the IRS and donations are tax deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law.

Did you know our mini-grants are considered on a rolling basis? Mini-Grants are modest awards that help educators make a positive difference in the learning experience of their students. Mini-grants support, encourage, and facilitate great teaching ideas that would not be possible within the existing school budget.
